Cooperation opportunities with the Czech Republic

Davit Sahakyan, the Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA received the delegation led by Martina Tauberová, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.

Davit Sahakyan presented the activities of the ministry, detailed the work carried out in each direction, emphasized the main goal - to develop high-tech industry in Armenia.

The Deputy Minister noted that one of the most important works in this direction is the startup-ecosystem, for the development of which regulated activities are carried out, starting from the state support program, which provides tax benefits to startups in the field, to training courses in various fields of technology. Davit Sahakyan emphasized that the citizens of other countries, who will register a new organization in Armenia, can also benefit from this state support program.

During the meeting, the Deputy Minister also presented the essence of the National Venture Fund, the goal of the Engineering City program, referred to the work carried out in the fields of digitalization, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, cyber security, outlined a number of opportunities for cooperation in those areas.

Martina Tauberová, in her turn, detailed the scope of their activities and experience, especially in the field of digitalization, artificial intelligence, cyber security, block chain technologies. 

Possibilities of cooperation in the presented directions were discussed during the meeting. An agreement was reached to set up working groups for the development of cooperation and information exchange.

Representatives of Czech business circles also took part in the meeting, who also detailed the specifics of their activities and pointed out prospects for cooperation.

Reference was made to the DigiWeek-2021 event planned for Yerevan in late October, within the framework of which the Digitec exhibition and Digi forum will take place, and it was noted that the participation of the Czech delegation in the event will be welcomed.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Armenia Bedrich Kopetsky and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Czech Republic Ashot Hovakimyan.
