Vahagn Khachaturyan and Fan Yong have discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of high technologies


Vahagn Khachaturyan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA received the delegation led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Armenia Fan Yong.

Welcoming the guests and attaching importance to China's great role and experience in the development of the world economy and high technologies, the Minister noted that the development of bilateral cooperation is very important for Armenia.


Taking into account the fact of industrialization of the economy emphasized in the programs of the RA Government, the Minister noted that the Ministry of HTI provides support to the private sector in order to establish and strengthen itself in the high-tech industry. Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed his conviction that the rich experience of China is invaluable in this regard, which in a short time has become a leading technological country from an agrarian country.

“Our country is in such a situation when there is a need to change the logic of the development of the economy. From an importing country we have to become an exporting country, including in terms of technology”, Vahagn Khachaturyan noted.


The Chinese Ambassador congratulated the Minister on assuming the new post and noted that significant investments have been made in the Chinese economy in the HTI sector over the past 40 years, the results of which are obvious. Fan Yong stressed that the development of cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies of China and the Ministry of HTI of the RA is very promising.

During the meeting the parties also touched upon the implementation of joint programs in the field of innovations, technologies and entrepreneurship and a number of other issues.

Highlighting the agreements reached in previous meetings, Minister Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed hope that they will be continuous and concrete results will be registered in the near future.
