Secretaries of Security Councils of Armenia and Russia have discussed a wide range of questions.

Russian Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev considers important the close cooperation between Russia and Armenia on issues of international information security, Russian Security Council’s press service reported following the meeting of Patrushev in Yerevan with the secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan.

The Russian-Armenian security consultations held in Yerevan addressed issues of interaction between the two countries in international organizations in the interests of national security of the two countries, as well as topics of cooperation with the field of information security, TASS reported referring to the statement.

According to the statement, Nikolai Patrushev highlighted the importance of close cooperation between Russia and Armenia on issues of international information security both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international organizations.

default.jpgPatrushev, who has been in Armenia on a two-day visit since August 12, and Grigoryan discussed a wide range of issues of interaction between the two countries through the apparatus of the Security Councils, law enforcement agencies, military departments and special services. The sides also exchanged views on the state of regional security and touched upon the subject of trade and economic relations.

The sides spoke about Russian-Armenian cooperation within the international organizations - the Eurasian Economic Union, the CIS, the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the UN General Assembly.

The past consultations confirmed a high level of mutual understanding and the similarity of approaches of the Russian and Armenian sides to resolving national security issues, the press service concluded.
