On January 22, Gor Melikyan, the RA First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry met with Anna Donchenko, the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Armenia. The sides discussed the possibilities of effective planning, creation of a joint roadmap for sectoral and interdepartmental cooperation.

According to Gor Melikyan, the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry considers the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Minpromtorg) as a key partner for cooperation in promoting civilian products in the field of high technologies.

Anna Donchenko proposed the idea of establishing a Russian-Armenian Scientific and Technical Council as a possible platform for regular dialogue.

At the same time, the Trade Representative offered to consider the establishment of a Russian-Armenian Scientific and Technical Council, which will include representatives of the expert community, interested companies, such as the Employees of the relevant public administration bodies, so that the positions developed at the expert level are immediately formulated by making concrete decisions and instructions.

Gor Melikyan, the First Deputy Minister of the HTI endorsed this idea, as well as the expediency of maintaining a joint list of bilateral projects, using the strengths of Armenia's high-tech industry, such as high-quality research and development, engineering services, and pilot production.

The sides stressed the need to develop a more coordinated approach to bilateral cooperation in areas such as radio electronics, digital technologies, agreed to carry out ongoing work in a number of spheres, including the development of the idea of ​​establishing a Russian-Armenian Scientific and Technical Council, implementation of current and long-term monitoring of bilateral projects, regular exchange of information on opportunities for enterprises of the two countries and interesting proposals and development of closer inter-agency cooperation with the prospect of signing a memorandum of cooperation.

During the meeting the interlocutors also touched upon such topics as the implementation of projects to create engineering and industrial cities in Armenia, the participation of businessmen from both countries in specialized exhibitions such as "ExpoElectronica" and "ArmHiTec" and the exchange of delegations.
