Prospects for high-technology cooperation with Kazakhstan were discussed


The Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received a delegation from Kazakhstan headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia Bolat Imanbayev.

The Minister welcomed the Ambassador and noted that cooperation in the high-technology area is an ongoing process. The fact that both countries are in the CIS and EEC territories, increases the possibilities for developing cooperation and implementing mutual programs. 

The Minister presented to the Ambassador the main directions of the Ministry’s activities, which are mostly aimed at the development of Armenia’s high-tech industry. According to the Minister, all aspects of the economy are now connected with high technology, so the progress of technology is playing a central role in the development of our country.

Bolat Imanbayev thanked for the reception, highlighted the strong cultural and historical connection between the two countries, and underlined the important role of Armenian community in the scientific, cultural and socio-political life of the country. The Ambassador presented to the Minister some of the programs that are being implemented for the economic progress of Kazakhstan, referred to the agreements already reached with the Ministry in the field of technology, and expressed his readiness to develop and expand them in the near future.

Vahagn Khachaturyan highlighted the extensive experience of Kazakhstan, especially in the area of space technology, and in this context the cooperation  would contribute to the development of this field in our country.

At the end of the meeting it was agreed to discuss opportunities for outlined cooperation during the upcoming online meeting between the two Ministers.
