The directions and opportunities for further cooperation with France in the field of high technologies were discussed


Vahagn Khachaturyan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Armenia Anne Louyot.

Vahagn Khachaturyan greeted the Ambassador, referred to the friendly and cooperative relations established between Armenia and France, the directions and opportunities for further cooperation. The Minister noted that the activity of the RA Government is based on the vision of having a developed technological Armenia, in the direction of which the Ministry is carrying out works. The Minister marked that France has a leading role in the field of high technologies in the world, and the introduction and application of French experience in new technologies, production and training of specialists in Armenia can be of great importance for our country.

The Ambassador Anne Louyot thanked for the reception, noting that the relations between Armenia and France are special, and the Embassy is ready to take necessary steps to deepen, advance and implement more coordinated cooperation for the benefit of the Armenian people and Armenia. The Ambassador noted that the development of high technologies is one of the priorities of the RA Government's strategy, and he would be happy if France could be useful in the implementation of that strategy. She also stressed that during her visit to DigiTec Expo 2021 held within the framework of DigiWeek2021 events, getting acquainted with Armenian startups and companies, she noted that there is a great potential in Armenia, which should be developed and made known, in particular, in France.

During the meeting, they also touched upon the terms of transferring to Yerevan the supercomputer donated by France to Armenia, the "Engineering City" program, and the works carried out in Armenia for the development of startups.  

The Minister presented to the Ambassador the state policy implemented for the development of startups, one of the important components of which is the creation of the National Venture Fund.

The parties also discussed a number of opportunities to intensify cooperation, in particular in space technology, telecommunications, digitalization, technology education and in a number of other areas.
