Hayk Chobanyan received Masanori Fukushima


The Acting Minister of High-Tech Industry of the RA Hayk Chobanyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Masanori Fukushima.

Hayk Chobanyan greeted the Ambassador, noting that cooperation with Japan in the field of high technologies is of key importance for the MHTI, as Japan has a leading position in the field of technology in the world.

Ambassador Fukushima thanked for the reception, noting that Armenia and Japan are countries with centuries-old history and unique cultural traditions.

The Ambassador particularly noted the strengthening of economic ties, including in the field of technology, the expansion of cooperation ties between the regions, the implementation of various programs for young people. According to him, direct contacts between people can often yield much greater results than numerous diplomatic meetings and discussions.

During the meeting, Hayk Chobanyan presented to the Ambassador the main directions of the Ministry's activity, emphasizing the importance of developing a technology-based industry for our country. He also presented to the ambassador the project to establish a techno-industrial city.

A number of opportunities related to the cooperation in the field of high technologies, technical education, postal communication, interaction with tech companies were discussed.

An agreement was reached to formulate an agenda of activities through a working procedure to discuss in more detail the scope of expanding cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Masanori Fukushima handed the invitation of the Government of Japan to the acting Minister Hayk Chobanyan to participate in the Expo2025 international exhibition.
