New approach to military education has been discussed in the RA Ministry of Defence

An annual conference of edefault.jpgducation experts was held in the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. The event was organized within the framework of the Armenia-NATO military-technical cooperation. Instructors as well as representatives of educational and methodological staff of military educational institutions took part in the event.

According to RA Ministry of Defence press-office, the key topic of the conference were various modern education practices and methods of instruction. The discussion touched upon innovative approaches and new methods of defence and military education, mixed forms and methods of education and modes of studies, stimulating approach, personalized learning strategies, etc.

Within the framework of the conference programme, Dean of Faculty and Academic Programmes of the Information Resources Management College of the  U.S. National Defence University, Ms.Mary S. McCully, visited the National Defence Research University where she was briefed on the vision, mission, goals and major tasks of the institution. Receiving of the delegates by First Deputy Defence Ministry of Armenia, Mr. Davit Tonoyan, could be called the summing up of the conference. At the meeting Mr. Tonoyan was presented with the results, outcomes and insights of the event, and exchanged views with the delegates on further development of cooperation.

For his part, Mr. Tonoyan pointed out that such conferences provide a unique opportunity to the representatives of the Armenian military educational institutions to familiarize themselves with modern educational methods and approaches applied in the contemporary learning process as well as to share experience of Armenian instructors and academics with their colleagues from abroad.
